I believe that great flavours and healthy ingredients can go hand in hand and having a plant-based diet can help heal the body and the planet.
My philosophy is simply to make:
REAL & WHOLESOME FOOD that is LOVED BY HUMANS AND THE ENVIRONMENT.
IT'S A SIMPLE WAY OF EATING.
NO-REFINED SUGAR, FULL OF REAL VEGGIES, FRUIT, SEEDS, SPICES & HERBS.
IT'S MADE WITH REAL STUFF.
LVK'S PRODUCTS ARE 100% VEGAN, GLUTEN-FREE, ALL NATURAL, ORGANIC, HEALTHY, WHOLESOME, SUPERFOODS, NON-GMO & PLANT-BASED INGREDIENTS.
IT'S GOOD FOR OUR HEALTH.
There is a lot of research stating that plant-based diets have many benefits for our health. Swapping out meat and dairy for plants has been shown to have positive effects for heart health, immunity and longevity.
LVK NOT A COMMODITY, IT'S A CRAFT MADE WITH LOVE
My food is loved by vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. If we can all eat more plants and be advocates to living a sustainable lifestyle, my hope is that together we can help our planet heal.
FOR THE LOVE OF FOOD, ANIMALS AND THE ENVIRONMENT
DID YOU KNOW? A plant-based diet can reduce your food carbon footprint by up to 73% - it’s the diet with the lowest environmental impact around. A recent study found that ‘food’ accounts for around a quarter of global greenhouse emissions. 58% of this comes from animal products, with half of this figure tied specifically to the production of beef and lamb. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, and pulses, on the other hand, are usually far less intensive in terms of resources required to produce.
REALLY, CAN WE CHANGE THE WORLD BY FOLLOWING A PLANT-BASED DIET?
Let’s focus on the logic. The food on your plate three times a day requires resources from our beautiful planet in the form of land, energy, water (and more!). By choosing to eat Lily’s Vegan Kitchen or even mostly plants, we can significantly reduce the environmental footprint.
- Protect Land. Animal agriculture requires 38% of all ice-free land. That’s because 1.5 acres of land can produce 375 pounds of meat or 37,000 pounds of plant-based food.
- Reduce Greenhouse Gases. The UN states that animal agriculture produces 18% of annual worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. We can radically reduce that number by making sure our food is as plant-forward as possible.
- Protect Sea. Animal agriculture uses 70% of the world’s freshwater consumption. Think about it. There’s the animal that needs to be fed from birth, they feed on crop that needs to be grown with water and need their own supply of H2O to keep them hydrated. On top of that gallons of water is used in the cleaning process. So plant-forward means more freshwater for our whole world.
And that is why I'm making eating Lily’s Vegan Kitchen easier and more delicious for all to enjoy - to help you move towards a more plant-based lifestyle.
